Joe H. Anderson, Jr.

Joe AndersonJoe was born to two of the founding families of Dixie County, Florida, the Anderson and Chavous families.  He founded Anderson Contracting in 1958 which began with a small dump truck and tractor/loader which later led to the purchase in 1988 of Columbia Paving Company of Lake City, Florida.

Over the years, Anderson Columbia has grown to become one of the largest road construction firms in the southeast, having done more D.O.T. roadwork than anyone in the State of Florida.  As time progressed, Anderson Columbia grew and built a cement manufacturing plant, redi-mix concrete plants, a roof tile plant and aggregate mining facilities to complement the road building projects.  Their work has been recognized for its excellence with such awards as the Shelton G. Hayes Award for the highest quality in asphalt paving, the top award in the United States.  Among other awards, the company has won the A.P “Pat” Bolton Award, the top Florida honor, more than any other contractor in the state.

Mr. Joe committed his life to Jesus Christ at the age of 50 and his life was changed dramatically as he began to live for Christ instead of living for Joe Anderson.  Since his conversion he has poured his life into many ministry endeavors.  In business and in life, he has lived out the Lordship of Christ.  God has placed on his heart to use some of the company’s labor and financial success to reach lost souls with the good news of the Gospel of Christ.  The underlying burden for establishing Crusades for Christ is to see God’s church revived.

Roy Deweese

Roy DeweeseRoy Deweese is the resident “tent-ologist” and Sight Coordinator for Crusades for Christ Ministries. Roy is responsible for assisting the local Pastors and volunteers in obtaining permits for meeting location properties.  Roy also oversees the tent set up and take down for each meeting.

Roy was born in Ashville, NC and he and his Mother moved to Florida in 1967. He enrolled in the Sheet Metal Workers Apprentice Program and continued in the trade until he retired in 2003. Roy married wife Debbie in April of 1979.

Roy was raised in the Methodist Church in North Carolina. Thirty-years later Roy realized that he was a lost church member. In 1984 he experienced true conversion and gave his life completely to Christ in 1984 at First Baptist Church Cross City Florida where he and Debbie remain as active members.

Roy thanks God for the three Godly women God placed in his life. His Mother and his Grandmother, who drug him “kicking and screaming” to church when he was a child, and his wife Debbie, who did the same until he finally got it right twenty-years later.

Roy became involved with Crusades for Christ Tent Revival Ministries at the first meeting in Old Town, Florida in October 2009 and soon, God lead him to work with the brand new ministry.

“I am honored and humbled to be a part of this team and I thank the Lord for the opportunity to be a part of a ministry that will glorify the name of Jesus Christ”.  ~ Roy Deweese

Event Coordinator

Jim HurstPastor Jim Hurst, Event Coordinator, was born in 1953 to Roscoe and Mattie Hurst. He and his wife Marion have been married for 37 years and have four children and eight grand children. Jim’s dad was an ordained Baptist minister for over 40 years but Jim chose a different road in life for a number of years. Jim states, “I was about as wild as wild can be until I met the Jesus my daddy preached about.” Jim was saved in his bedroom in April 1975 and within 6 months was led into the ministry for the Lord. Ministering in primarily Southern Baptist churches over the next couple of years he was blessed to see hundreds of people receive Christ.

In 1981 he was licensed with the Assemblies of God and has served as Pastor to the same congregation for over twenty years. He states, “Denomination was never an issue with me since all Christians are a member of the Body of Christ. We have far too much common ground to allow a few differences to divide.”

He loves to see Christians working together to win the lost to Jesus! Jim states, “The opportunity that has been presented to me as Event Coordinator for Crusades for Christ Tent Ministry is both humbling and challenging. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with fellow Pastors and church leaders around our great nation in a united effort to win the lost to Jesus.”

The concept of CFCTM is different in that we will earnestly seek to provide a platform to anointed local ministry on many levels. In most cases we will not arrive with the Evangelist in tow, but participating ministers will provide ministry. The same applies with the majority of the praise and worship. There will a heavy emphasis on involving the Youth. We desire to win the lost, bless the local Pastors and their congregations, and serve as a blessing to the community.

If you would like to have an old fashioned soul winning Tent Revival in your area please feel free to contact me at 1-386-623-6189 or email at wtltc12@gmail.com
